This 8-week course for beginner and intermediate creatives will focus on the principles and elements of design.
Each week we will learn the following elements:

WK1: Movement and Line
WK2: Pattern/Repetition and Shape
WK3: Balance and Value
WK4: Emphasis and Colour
WK5: Rhythm and Texture
WK6: Proportion and Space
WK7: Variety and Form
WK8: Unity

Feel free to use other elements in your piece, but the paired element must be the dominant one!
Pairings and week order are subject to change to better suit the needs of the class.
You’ll have a new piece each week to show your friends and family!
Don’t worry if your piece isn’t finished; feel free to take it home and complete it (and bring a picture of the finished piece to the next class if you can)!
Please come prepared with basic art supplies (pencils, erasers, sketchbooks).
Other materials may be provided or required; we can always discuss needs (we’re flexible).
